Heathkit Legato system 401-17 , 15" woofers. What are the specs?

I'm in possession of a pair of Heathkit 401-17 woofers. (From a Legato system I'm told) Big 15" beasts and are obviously re-branded Altec units.

Does anybody know the specs for these woofers? Which Altec model are they equivalent to ?

803A or 803B depending on the vintage.

803A has a paper hinge, sometimes it's doped, early ones can be found with phenolic spiders.

803B has a doped cloth accordian hinge/surround, and cloth spider. 803B is the same woofer as a 416A.

Took a quick look. Mine is a paper hinge that's doped. Soooo.... 803A according to your information.
