Just wondering what brand and kind of thermal/heat paste you like! I am looking for a nonhardning paste, if there is one for to-3 transistors? Thanks

Good choice of the many out there. There are some to avoid used for computers that are electrically conductive.
I use Wakefield type 126 non-silicone

bought it before Boyd bought Avid Thermalloy. Boyd has all kinds of stuff and an old brochure from Avid has thermal management products like these compounds as well as heat sinks and isolation materials.

Legit questions though,
1. How many stereos (reseating the compound for restoration) would 3-4 oz serve? I have about 10 stereos to do over time.
2. "thermal compound silicone vs. non silicone", the Google AI result for this is really good, long so I won't replicate here.

Since the compound is only there to fill in the rough surface of the heat sink and the transistor, you use VERY Little on each device. A few grams will do a high powered receiver with 6-12 transistors fairly easily. You want metal to electrical insulator (mica) to metal connections not a blob of compound for the heat to have to travel through.
