So I picked these two wonderful puppies at my friends dads garage. Now this makes me very young but still. I truly am gotting into sound, and radios, because i wanna have my own radio station. Because of this I started dwelving into old receivers. So since these stopped working his father was going to throw them out. Naturaly i took them in and fixed em up.
The sound quality is beautiful. I use the AKAI AA-1010 everyday and i just dont truly find a reason not to. The quality that the audio plays over I cant really tell the difference between newer radios. Especially being able to adjust the speakers differently on the same nob. (I realize newer speakers and other such play apart but thats not what im after.) Ived noticed it is very durable as well. It had a fire inside due to spiders and so a good portion of it is burnt. But after replacing a fuse and rerouting the wires it fires right back up.
The Calibre 225 isnt the best in its line up but its still a really good ol sturdy receiver. A little bit more heavy duty then the AKAI AA-1010 as well as a bit dated sadly. This sucker doesnt need to go high on the volume for sound. Id recken you dont need more then half of it turned up. A good weight to it but like i said sturdy. I reckon this one would be great for a small shop. It even allows for aux cables if you desire.
I find that they both are all round for a old sleek vintage look in a business or mancave radio. If anyone has any better radio suggestions please i would love to know.
