Sup y'all

I'm becoming a bit of an audiophile, and to start off on the journey, I semi-inherited a pioneer sx-626, which has a bit of a problem. It seems that when I switch from mono to stereo, either one (it varies) of the channels pops out, then only a bit of sound will come out of it. If I switch it back to mono, both speakers sound fine, so I'm thinking that a...uh...thing is blown out. Or something. Any ideas?

Welcome, welcome!

I second the DeOxit advice. Wonderful what that stuff can do considering its so non intrusive and easy.

I don't know if you've been lurking or not but listen to EchoWars, about anything.

And, a big welcome to AK!...................R1:music::yes:

Welcome :) I agree with the Deoxit cleaning. You can usually find some at Radio Shack or Guitar Center. Do a search on cleaning of Pots and Switches. Not real hard but can be a PITA. Good luck and ask questions.

Another question, on my receiver, the bass and treble knobs have a definite click to get from one notch to another, whereas the other ones are smooth like satin. Is that normal, or a sign of "holy crap it's too late"?

Welcome to AK. You should be able to search plenty of threads about cleaning controls on Pioneer Gear. PJ

"I don't think we're in Kansas any more Toto?"

Welcome to the AK forum.....Lions and Tigers and Bears.....Oh my!
