Hello! And a question...

Hello AK community,

Ben here. Total newbie. Nice to meet you all. I've been lurking in this forum for a bit, trying to get some guidance about what kind of vintage receiver might be the right upgrade. Can someone tell me the best place to ask this question? It's probably straight forward to figure this out, but I want to ask in the right spot. Also, how much detail about my current setup is good to add? I realize getting the right advice will require some add'l details. I'm especially interested in something like a Concept 6.5 or Marantz 2270, but I don't know if that's the best option, or what kind of power I really need, etc.

Thanks all!
Ben

Welcoming me Ben. Marantz is selling at a ridiculous premium now. Might consider some other vintage brands. Just a thought. If you are considering new, Emotiva is a real bang for the dollar. I started with them when I got back into the hobby. IMHO

The answer to the question will be determined by two primary factors: what speakers you have and room size. Also, you mentioned that this purchase would be an upgrade. From what? What deficiency in performance are you hoping to remedy? Could that remedy involve adjustments in your current setup/speaker/listening location? Definitely going to need more information in order to be helpful.
