Hi there
I know I’m probably young enough to be most of yours, grand child.
But Within the last 6 years iv got really into German record consoles. ( Grundig, Blaupnkt, telefunken ..etc) I love the look of the wood consoles and the quality of German engineering. I restore vintage cars, mainly Mercedes, jags, Ferrari vw… so these are just an extension of that obsession. My grandfather was a huge audio file nut and I grew up on vinyl ( just not his classical crap)mainly punk, rock, metal, etc. I like to retro fit the consoles with new components, and TT. I find it easier to do this , than to try and fix the old dusty stuff that came in them. I’ll drop a Dual TT in the console and tube amp( with Bluetooth) as well as put some decent speakers in the consoles. Like an old car, but with a modern motor and drive train. ( hot ridding). Any ways … my Grandfather passed away and left me his entire system.
-Audio note m3 pre amp
- Macintosh 4100 rec.
- custom made Cass audio speakers,
-McCormick digital drive
-and large passive amps for the speakers.
Before you jump down my throat… I won’t be putting this into a console. But I would like to use the M3 in my Blaupnkt 1946 New Yorker model console. The Cass audio inc speakers are huge ( 185lbs) per speaker. I’d like to know if anyone has heard of these? No info on the web.
Thanks
Jameson
