I've stumbled upon this forum in search of my first turntable. With the upcoming release of the first BOC album in over 7 years, now's as good a time as any to jump into the world of vinyl.

One question, why does the classified section appear to be hidden? Is it only viewable to donating members?

Correct, but not 'donating' members, if you donate this will not give you access to the classified section. So, I think you mean 'subscribing' members :yes:

Welcome to AK! The only option is to negotiate the cost with she who must be obeyed, meaning wife and daughter (if it is a daughter). Everything is relative and turntable + access to buying/selling forum must be in perspective with fatherhood.

Maybe work a bit of overtime?

Nice mech... wife and son aren't the issue, I'm the cheap one... anyways this is a great forum, content is on the verge of overwhelming. I'm going to stick to craigslist and yard sales for now.

A couple ways of looking at it if I may...

If you're in the market for just about anything audio related, that $25 subscription fee will be returned to you in savings. Folks often lowball their own prices in Barter Town - and when they don't they do offer piece of mind that you're getting what is advertised from someone who cares.

Plus, the fact you're interested in looking at classifieds means you're not THAT broke.

And subscribing and donating helps us pay rent for this little corner of the interweb.

ps. Maybe you could request that sellers pack the items you purchase in new diapers.

The Member Classifieds and Partswap does not work or open for me either, and I am a subscribing member.
It has been dead for months now but it did work for me before.

I think the guys mean that you have to be a paying member to use Barter Town. Right?
The classifieds are gone, Right?

I think the Classifieds are gone. I am a subscribing member and can't access them.

They don't work for anyone. If you note, there are no threads listed to the right of Classifieds. Those forums were replaced with Barter Town and their subforums, accessible for subscribers.
