Hi everyone,

New member here, just signed up yesterday. I'm a long-time tube and transistor radio collector and am just now starting to get interested in audio equipment. In addition to learning as much as possible from the membership here, I'm hoping to get some advice on what would be a good reel-to-reel player to start with to learn the electronics.

I know where Lexington is :-)

Welcome... there's something of a ghetto (or enclave, if you prefer) of MA hifi buffs here at AK.

Thanks for all the welcome messages, everyone.

Hobie1dog, I'll try to find an affordable TEAC, as you suggest. What's the best place online to find used equipment? A lot of the radios I've bought to feed my other hobby came via eBay, but I'm sure shipping is even more of a problem for large audio gear than it is for tube radios.

Welcome!

My first good R2R was a Teac A-3340S. Try and find yourself something like a Tascam 34B or 44OB, those are amazing sounding decks that don't seem to go for much last time I checked....

Howdy!

Check the events and happenings section- a few of us local are meting up this weekend. You are envited!
