Hello, I'm just getting into to hifi home audio and was referred to this site. I've been collecting vinyl for about five years but I play through a Crosley turntable and a Pioneer surround system. My friends and I however are discovering the joy of 70s speakers, receivers, and turntables. If there are any other WNY vinyl collectors in here, I'll see you at the record show this weekend. :thmbsp:

Hello from Houston but more relevantly, also, from years long ago, from Amherst, Hamburg, Orchard Park and the city of my birth, Buffalo New York !!!

An opinion: Consumer grade audio gear from the Seventies and Eighties represents some of the finest components and speakers ever built...In many cases, you have to venture into the hi-end stuff today to get the same solid build quality that scores of examples from that era demonstrate...For the most part, you can still find the top-end gear of those two decades for chump change and they represent great values for discriminating listeners and savvy collectors.

Enjoy.

Hey thanks for the response! Work and school keep me busy but I've been buying records and taking in gear donations from coworkers and family. It's been a great week.
