Hello all,

60 year old newby here from PA. I've stumbled upon a few decent purchases lately and it has me reliving my childhood. I grew up in the 60's and 70's listening to my friends Marantz and swore I would have one someday. I finally realized that dream last week with a 2220B. Not top of the line but only $40 so hard to complain. I picked up pair of EPI 100V tonight at auction with a Philips 7861 Receiver. I'm sure the EPI's will need to be refurbished so I'm looking for resources and direction. In short, I need an education. If you guys would point me in a direction, I'll be forever in your debt.

Congrats, I just joined too - Sounds like we’re in about the same boat !!..... I remember the fine gear manufactured in the golden age of audio the 70’s but couldn’t quite afford, but just got a fine 1977 Kenwood ka 7100 dc amp.... I don’t even have it plugged in but just set it on the shelf and it serves me well as a visual time machine to remind about those good old audio days!!

My everyday amp now is a Hafler 9300

Sounds like a great start. We'll have to compare notes as we go.
 
I just did a google... If you google ‘Speaker Rebuilding’ you’ll likely find rebuilders and rebuilding kits...
 
Welcome Bob form a fellow Pennsylvanian. EPI 100 is an excellent speaker and are very easy to refoam. The woofers have a big voice coil gap unlike the Cizeks and JBL I've done before.
