Hello from Paris

Assuming you mean Paris, France, not Texas. This is Gus, dreaming of the Left Bank and a beautiful Parisian chatte he once knew there. Like many cats, Gus prefers the warmth of tubes. We welcome you both (from Brooklyn and Pennsylvania) to AK!

Hey !

I'm new to AudioKarma—always loved audio, worked in music, now testing if I can fund the hobby through vintage flips while chasing killer amp/speaker pairings. Who knows, might turn into a jobby-job!

Gear Snapshot

Leboncoin hunter: pro-rebuilt McIntosh MA6100 (1972), rare HAWK separates ("Lenco LP-7081 like"), Sonab, Lenco L75, Aura VA-50, Pioneer (but I dont like it :P) . Qobuz on Mac M4; JMR Basics / Micromégas/Sonab OA-12 speakers.

I source deals, tech handles internals, I polish cosmetics for compact or story-rich matches.

Here For

OEM scoops (HAWK in Lenco chassis, are there more OEM finds out there) and pricing wisdom—eyeing Paris MA6100 values. Pure geekery, no sales through here.

Also, here is my cat!

We should have a play date. If Washington announces that we’re taking over France, just ignore it. Two years left.

Hi, yep, it's the old Paris. Gus is mighty handsome! My cat loves warmth and chewing on cables... I wonder if she has a copper deficiency.

I know it's not funny, I am open to all advice. She really likes the soft Apple cables. But honestly, I've tried a bunch of cables (still chewed on) and trying to route them away from her.

Maybe this is a whole topic, let me know what you think

Sounds great!, and if we just wait until 2029 we'll have Skynet fully online as well. ;D (Not doing politics, just saw Terminator 2 a couple of days ago)

Yes. Cables and speaker grills. There’s no hope, I think. Cats always win. I installed all of my components and cables into a custom cabinet and ran my 35-foot lengths of speaker cables under the floor. But he still attacks and chews on my phone chargers.

(BTW, Gus said your cat is “très belle, a real looker. Ooh là là!” But he’s a little feisty.)

Just make sure it is not because of food deprivation or mouth issues.
