Hello everyone, I came across Ak forum searching info for vintage equipment since I myself am a vintage man :-).I'm a mechanical engineer and a Diyer and love to listen music of years 60 70.I do not like modern equipments and avoid when possible.I am glad to find this family n would like to be a member of it.

Aloah!

Welcome to the Forum.

I was in Istanbul last year and enjoy that city very much. Have not been to other areas of Turkey, but I want to. I am a Roman Empire Historian and visiting the Old Eastern Roman Capital City of Constantinople (Istanbul) was amazing.

Enjoy AK!

I hear Istanbul has a big audiophile community, true?

Yes ,that's true ;since audiophile equipments cost much more in Turkey due to unbelievably high import taxes and distributor profits , Istanbul is the only city where people have high incomes hence have the chance to buy them.Even second hand vintages are really expensive .2 days ago I bought an Akai am-2800 for 200 usd and not in mint condition I must say.Needs recapping .two much complaint :-)

Welcome.

I will be visiting your country in about 2 weeks with a small tour including a brief stop in Izmir. So much looks of Turkey looks fascinating, many friends have visited and all have wonderful stories. We are excited.
