I inherited my older brothers stereo equipment. I must've been 7 or 8 when he brought home this "huge ass" "best you could buy at the time" (Prob most expensive lol) stereo system after he was back from Okinawa Japan. (Marines) I could remember him blasting his 80's rock music from the house and we could all hear down the block at the school.

I remember wanting to get something like that when I was all grown. Time fly's! I was visiting with my brother and helped clean out his garage. Low and behold there it was, neatly packed in all the original packaging. I asked what he was doing with it and he said I could have it.

Finally got moved into our new place here in sunny California and ready to set this thing up (prob going to need some help). Hoping to learn a few things here and meet some cool peeps.

Welcome to AK, JH.
Check with the speaker forum before you toss any blown speakers. They may be easily fixable if it's just the surrounds/gaskets that have dry rotted. Thank your brother for his service from an old hippie in SoCal. (grin)
