Hello Howdy and Hi (fi)

Hi everyone,
I'm happy to have found this forum. I recently acquired my first piece of vintage gear, a Marantz 2220b, from my father and am excited to get it back in working order. I have fond memories of this stereo from when I was a kid and when he said he was going to get rid of it I just couldn't bear to see it go. I also own a Technics SL-1200MKII turntable. The only other thing I run into a receiver is an AUX 3.5mm cord for my iPod. My old receiver is a Pioneer SX-255R.

I've been an audio (sound) engineer for 15 years now, but this is my first foray into stereo equipment.

I'm glad a forum like this exists to share knowledge and get inspiration. I do feel however that I may be on a slippery slope here. They say the first hit is free...

Welcome to AK! Yes indeed, this hobby is addicting and with your background I would think especially so. If you really love listening to music you're going to jump in with both feet. Thanks for being here and sharing your story.

"H", "H" and "H" back and welcome as well.

No one hit wonders on this site! All feedback if you but ask for it.

You did good in keeping the Mar. What aspect of sound are you into if you can share?
