Thank you for the warm welcome.
I just posted a thread about my current set up over on the Solidstate Board.
Currently, I am working with a LG 47LN5700 television, a pair of clean vintage large Advent speakers, and a Sony DVD/Blu-ray player (with only digital audio).
I'm in the market to purchase a receiver. I grew up with listening to a Sansui G4500 my father purchased brand new as a gift to himself. Coupled with some Bose speakers, it sounded great. So, there is a nostalgic appeal for me, not to mention that vintage audio equipment is just plain cool. Unfortunately, anything my pops taught me about audio equipment just didn't stick. At that time, I only cared about the music coming out. So my knowledge of audio in general is lacking.
I'm looking at a Sherwood S-7200 receiver. My budget is low unfortunately because me and the wifey just started out on our journey of life together. I've been selling some old equipment to put together some funds for about $100 towards a receiver.

Here is a picture of the Advents. One of them is a little faded and discolored. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they work and how well. Like I said, they were given to me by a family member who hadn't used them for a long time.
Nice Advents, now, are they re-foamed, if not that is your first job. I have a Sherwood S7650 as my garage system. Nice receiver.
