Just signed on after lurking for a while. My audio journey is pretty average, and not finished yet (I hope). I built Heathkits in the 60's and 70's. My first "stereo" had an 8 track deck. I put my first "system" together in my twenties. My second system in my 30's, and my third in my 50's. And am now reworking that one. Brands I've had include Sony, Yamaha, Thorens, Teac, KEF, RadioShack, Blue Circle, VON SCHWEIKERT, Rotel. I don't have any experience in EE. I love thrift stores. I have a dog. I ask dumb questions, but usually stop myself before I post them.

How do, and welcome! As you've lurked, you probably have noticed the wide range of tastes, experiences, motivations, standards. And, you know, vive le difference. I don't think you need to worry about any kind of stupid-question stigma. Sounds to me like you have some stories to tell. Hope you like it here.
