I just purchased this unit and know little to nothing about it. I’ve tested various functions (am, fm, tape, phonograph, speakers, power inputs), all of which work well. I did a simple google search to find out a little more like when it was made, what kind of unit it is (solid state etc) and what othervarious components it is made up of. I am new tovintage electronics and would appreciate anyinformation that you could share (year, components, features, etc). Thanks!

Scrubbed the web looking for info. None to be had that I can find. Looks like it had a brother the "PMC-4000a" which had some kind of pseudo-quad circuit probably similar in concept to the Dynaco SCA-80Q. Given the low serial no. of 1708 I would guess that very few of these were made. At the very least, this is truly a rare find.

FWIW, Emerson purchased Pilot in the Mid 60's but still used the Pilot brand name, then Emerson was bought out by National Union Electric Corp which also used the Pilot brand name.
Based on attached pics production was a Japanese based manufacturer, who that is/was I haven't the foggiest thus why there is little to know info.
