[Help] VSP-Labs Computer-Controlled Preamplifier

Hi everyone,

I can't remember the brand of a rare preamplifier from the '80s which sported the logo "Computer Controlled" over the front panel. It was something with "Labs", such as "XYZ Labs" for example.

Is anyone able to suggest that brand and talk about the preamp? Thanks a lot.

Crown DL-2

Crown manufactured a preamplifier that was marketed as "Computer Controlled".

It was the DL-2.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it was not Crown. It was a minor brand, an acronym of three letters and then "Labs". The problem is to recall to mind the exact combination of those three letters! :headscrat

Got it! It was "The Straightwire" Computer-Controlled Preamplifier by VSP-Labs.

Is there anyone able to talk about this rare brand and electronics? Thanks

You found what you were looking for, but SAE also had a computer-something preamp. P101, P102, etc.

Yeah...Computer Direct-Line Preamplifier P101/102. Unreliable stuff, as far as I am concerned...

But I'm curious to know more about the VSP Labs preamp. Googling the web I've discovered the brand belonged to Juan Velazquez, now in Wadia, who obtained a patent for the Trans-Mos circuitation employed in the power amp of the brand.
