Help determining value of Altec 836a lido speakers

Looking for help determining the value of a set of speakers. They are a set of Altec 836a lido speakers which have a pair of 402a drivers and a mismatched pair of 755b and 755c drivers. The cabinets are in ok condition with some scratches on the tops and bottoms.

The only thing of any real value is the 755's. I had a pair of Lidos that had 755b in both speakers. It is strange that you got a mismatched set. The 755B is very rare and may be the most rare of all of the 755 models. The 755B appears to be a 755A but it is an 8ohm speaker and the color is a blueish-grey color. Other than that they appear identical to the A.
The value of a single 755B would be hard to determine. You are the first one, that I have seen, to have a 755b since I sold my pair about 6-7 years ago. I was able to sell the pair for $3,500 on the bay. I can only imagine what they might go for now.
A single 755c could be fairly easily matched up with another single 755c somewhere.

Thanks for the help. Information is so limited on these that it definitely makes it difficult for me to determine the value of a single 755b.
 
I too have a set of Lidos with the 755 b speaker .. the serial numbers are sequential .. i would like to know the value ...??

The best way to determine value is to sell them on ebay in an auction. Just list them in an auction and see where they sell. If you have a good rating on that site, and you take good detailed pictures, and also test the speakers with a DMM to show that the voice coils are not shot, then that will help.

Having a matched pair will help the value. Singles usually sell for less than half the value of a pair, seemingly around 25 -35% of the value of a matched pair.

Well presented from a reputable seller they should bring somewhere in the rage of 3500-5500. Such a sale will likely be international, and require a bit of patience to see through.

Good luck, they're increasingly uncommon and deserve a proper home.
