Help: Dual 505-2 tonearm goes too far

Hello,

I have had this turntable stopped for months because it wasn't working properly, but I have now manage to make it work and play a vinyl, until I realised that at the end of the vinyl it did lift the tone arm until it reached the label of the vinyl record.

I had another look around the manual and online but nobody seems to have this issue or I'm not asking the right things on google.

I have another Dual (503-2) and that one stops at the right place.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Alright. Then I'd suggest you to first check, whether the tiny 3.2 mm ball between the groove in the Abstellschiene and the chassis plate is still present. You can see (or respectively barely see) that for example over there: https://www.hifi-archiv.info/Dual/505-1s/505-08.jpg With the Abstellschiene being part number 215 and the little ball being part number 166 in this explosion drawing.

And then there's the excenter S (which you can see for example in the last drawing over there: https://www.hifi-archiv.info/Dual/505-1s/505-02.jpg), with which the autostop point can be varied between 116 and 122 mm playback diameter (= 58 to 61 mm radius).

Thank you for taking the time to reply and point me in the right direction.
The excenter S screw was the right pointer for me, the ball bearing 166 is still in the right place.

I found that you tried to help someone else years ago once I searched for "excenter S" (https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=37515)

If anyone else in the future has the same problem, it is most likely the Excenter S screw, it's quite a smart mechanism, the screw goes around on it's own but moves the arm a few millimetres away or closer to the turn off switch.

I took the E clip out because I didn't really understand the mechanism beforehand, but you don't have to, unless you can't see what's the position in the outer circle. Just to iterate, this is not to remove the screw, it's only to move it further away or closer.
