Help finding correct RCA y cable

I have been searching for the best y-cable for what I need to do, and am coming up short, so I wonder if I am using the wrong term.

I am attempting to find a male to male and female y cable.
I am going from pre-amp out to pre-amp in on my H/K 730, but need a split female to connect a cable to a mono block.

I am finding a piggyback which has 6 ft of cable to the other male RCA.

Is there a name or term for this cable other then y connector?

If I understand correctly you want to pull the pre-out -> power-in clips fron the back of your amp and run signal from the pre-out to both the power-in and another (pair of) amplifier(s)

I think you will find you want three male connectors on your Y.

If I got this right, you want to go from one male RCA to a female RCA and a male RCA.

If this is so, go to Radio Shack and get a female RCA to female RCA adaptor. Put it on one of the male RCA's and there you go!

why three male's? unless one of the males is long enough to reach the mono block. I wasn't expecting to find something like that. I was expecting to use a standard male/male cable to get from the female on the Y to the mono block

joeESP9- I was hoping I could do it without using adapters

Yes, three males if it has a really long tail is what I was thinking. (More like an 'h' possibly?) Sounds like a good DIY project.

You can use a female RCA to two male RCA's Y connector.
The way you connect the Y connector is not important.
The three legs in a Y connector are wired in parallel.
So, you can use it as a male RCA to a female RCA and a male RCA.

Just plug the two males into the input and output female RCA's on your gear. Plug a cable with male RCA to male RCA connectors into the female RCA connector and you are done.
