Help - Fisher 90R

Recently I bought a Fisher 90R and it's lovely but for one problem: After about an hour of use listening to 88.3mhz some nasty distortion takes over. Signal strength does not seem to be a problem, judging by the tuning indicator. But the distortion isn't evident on other stations as I go up the dial. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem? I have no idea whether it might be out-of-spec parts (and which ones) or something serious with alignment. Since 88.3 is one of the two stations I listen to, this is really annoying.
Thanks.

Don't know your skill level

I know nothing of your specific tuner (except vintage Fisher gear is excellent) but here are some simple things to eliminate

Safely!

Clean all the tube sockets with De-oxit and re-seat the tubes

Clean the tuner capacitor with QD NON-RESIDUAL cleaner

What is its history and has it been serviced?

A wild thought, but does your 88.3 station broadcast an HD signal? If so, it might possibly be the culprit, but it would be odd for it to take an hour to start screwing up your signal.

Post this on the Fisher forum. There are probably some experts there familiar with the particular unit.

Thanks to all. I tried Deoxit on the tube sockets with no luck. Have some QD on the way. 88.3 is HD but so are many others. I've also posted this on the Fisher forum, as fred soop advises.
