Help getting a friend a cheap turntable

How would you rate these? Are ANY of them any good? Pioneer PL-100 , Pioneer PL-250, a Technics SL-1500 , Technics SL-250, Technics SL-D2, Denon DP-23F and a Dual 1241 (These are all available locally in the $100-140 range)

I'm leaning to either the Dual or the SL-1500 at the moment

I think that would be my first choice (at $120), but it's a 2 1/2 hour drive each way. Went and looked at the Dual, it's in great shape and although it was listed for $100, I think the owner would probably take $80.
 
Depending on the friend, I'd probably look at the Dual first, then make the drive to check out the Technics, and then decide which. That's just me, tho, and I like to drive!

As for the friend, there is the matter of whether or not he/she prefers one drive system over the other, and the obligatory question of auto/semi-auto/manual operation. Sounds like the Dual was well cared for, it's probably a pretty good deal. If they are cool with a belt-drive automatic, the decision is pretty much made. If they've got no problem with a manual, and prefer DD, well, remember you're making the drive for a friend...
 
If as described at $120 that's a pretty good price for a respected vintage table these days for the SL-1500 and worth the drive. Unless there is a physical handicap involved auto/semiauto shouldn't be a deciding factor and could be a negative when it comes to long time reliability, keep it simple, go manual.
