HELP !!! I think I just found out, IM AN IDIOT !!! B&K AVR 507 THX Ultra 2

MJ Clemmer

Well-Known Member
Hello, First off, I have the B&K AVR 507 THX Ultra 2 and I cant figure out the remote to save my life. The manual on the remote looks like you need a Masters degree to operate. Ive NEVER seen a remote that you program thru a computer ! All I can do right now is turn on the reciever and turn up the volume...:sigh: Is there ANYONE in the Milwaukee area that can give me a hand on this. (I used to be computer savy and tech sound, then I ran into a TON of medical problems and Im on a ton of meds now and cant think anymore or concentrat on how to do things, I even used to build computers Even with the good old DOS systems) I know it sounds bad but It frustrates me to the core that I cant get something to work when I was GREAT at it before. I lost my job because I cant think and because of all the narcotics Im on. (cronic pain) I even have a medication pump inplanted in my gut. Sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to give a backround on why I cant figure this damn thing out. ! I am using some GREAT speakers with the system (JBL 4311s, Klipsch Hereseys, JBL Pro theaters etc...) SO, IF anyone out there in the Milwaukee Area can give me a hand, Id work something out for your time...... thanks and sorry for the rant..... Michael J (some of you have meet me and know Im a strait up guy with a BAD BAD memory, No BS thanks again) ...:worried:

There's a little help, then there's a little help . . .

1. Can't help with the remote - hope others can and will.
2. Really feel your frustration!!! [HAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!]
3. You have now started to address the major problem - posting this message is reaching out for help! This means you've moved off 'first-base'!!!
4. If you've got strong medical support, print off your post, show it to your doctor(s) and ask them how the h*ll they can adjust your meds to lessen the negative side effects (if that is at all humanly possible!) - do you need to change your docs? (just askin')*
5. Even if you can stay focused for only a few minutes at a time, try to write a detailed daily (or hourly) journal, use it as a memory-support system - for everything. In particular, write detailed step-by-step procedure instructions for every complex/ technical process that you may want/ need 'Tomorrow' (Once you've figured 'em out, 'looked-'em-up' or asked for input). Cutting and pasting files into structured folders will build up a database of useful stuff - make a good alphabetic index listing tho'.
6. What music relaxes you? :music: (What else relaxes you? Can you exercise?)

NOTES:
a. "You are still in there" - we have to keep searching for the right paths
b. * I'm sure you've already challenged the medical situation - never stop doing that.

All the best!

Mjclemmer, I'm sorry I cannot help you with the remote. However, I can suggest some things that WILL help you:

(1) Start eating a diet that is FULL of leafy greens, vegetables and fruits, with limited amounts of nuts and fish. Eat a wide variety of them, including ones you haven't tried before. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate about 200 types of food; the typical modern diet ACTUALLY contains 20 or fewer foods, just repackaged and flavored, etc... to appear like more! You need a varied diet to provide all the nutrients your body (cells, tissues, organs) need to function correctly.

(2) STOP eating all processed "factory" foods that come in boxes, cans, etc.. with various colorings, flavorings, preservatives, etc... in them. If the list of ingredients is long with funny chemical names in it, DON'T eat it. IF anything in the label has the words "hydrolyzed", "hydrogenated" or "partially-hydrogenated", DON'T eat it. Stick to things that still look as they were found in nature (plucked from a stem or from the ground, or caught swimming or running). Do NOT eat artificial "replacement" type foods like egg substitutes, fat substitutes, etc... NATURAL foods will help heal you; artificial ones will prevent your body from becoming healthy.

(3) Stop eating anything made with refined sugar or artificial sweeteners, added salt, caffeine, or alcohol. Stop smoking, if you smoke.

(4) Eliminate wheat, barley, rye and millet from your diet, including any food with any ingredient made from them, for at least for 60 days, and limit grains in your diet to modest amounts after that. If, when you add grains back into your diet you feel tired or otherwise observe negative symptoms, then eliminate them permanently from your diet. Likewise, try eliminating any foods you think might not suit you well, AND ANY FOODS that you habitually eat (eat almost every day) and/or sometimes crave. After a week, try eating them again, and if there are no symptoms within 48 hours after eating them, add them back into your diet. Otherwise, eliminate them.

(5) Consume only raw (unpasteurized, homogenized) milk products; eliminate the pasteurized and homogenized versions from your diet entirely.

(6) Be sure to include healing/medicinal and liver-supportive foods such as garlic, ginger, beets, and turmeric (the spice) in your diet regularly.

(7) Eat at least half of your food RAW, and the rest cooked.

(8) Eat smaller meals every 2-3 hours.

(9) Chew your food very well and thoroughly before swallowing.

(10) DO NOT eat high-starch foods (things like potatoes, rice, bread if you eat it) at the same meal with high-protein and/or fatty foods. Always eat a little fat with your high-protein foods. Eat greens and vegetables with everything (starchy meals AND protein/fat meals). In nature, proteins come together with fats, and starchy foods do not contain protein. Our bodies evolved to digest foods in these natural combinations, and cannot fully digest them properly when they are mixed. This results in incompletely-digested food passing lower into the digestive tract, resulting in various symptoms and challenging the immune system, making healing more difficult.

(11) Every day, spend some time breathing slowly and deeply into the abdomen. On each exhalation, concentrate on relaxing your body and let the body decide how long or short the exhalation should be.

(12) Remain as positive as you can, and avoid negative attitudes such as doubt, worry, anger, regret, thoughts of revenge, etc... Release these emotions which no longer serve your interests as they perhaps once did, and replace them with positive thoughts and feelings of gratitude and appreciation, love, etc..

(13) First thing in the morning and last thing in the evening, do this: Put two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (the unrefined kind with the 'mother' in it) in a glass. Add about 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to it. After the mixture stops fizzing, add water to fill the glass up to at least half full. Then drink it!

(14) It's also a good idea to have water beside the bed. Any time you awaken at night, sip it. When you wake up, drink some water while still lying down, BEFORE sitting up in bed, then wait a few minutes before arising. The body absorbs water into its cells much faster if you do this. Your body NEEDS plenty of water, especially with all those meds.

(15) Do not stay up late. Ideally, go to sleep as soon as you feel tired or sleepy in the evening, even if it is only 7:30, but in any case go to be by 10:30 at the absolute latest (esp. since you are already ill and on meds.) Unless you must, try not to use an alarm clock to wake you; let yourself awaken naturally. Sleep in darkness (lights off) and as much as possible, in a quiet place.

(16) I almost forgot! Banish highly-processed oils like "cooking oil", corn oil, and peanut oil from your kitchen. Use either cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil or walnut oil on your salad meals. Take pharmaceutical-grade, distilled cod liver oil, in liquid (not capsule) form, daily. Cook only in coconut oil, and you can add coconut oil to other dishes if you wish. Despite all the hype, flax oil, while good when fresh, is not nearly as good as fish oils, and it usually goes rancid shortly after opening the container. ANY oil that leaves a slightly burning sensation on the back of your throat is bad (oxidized), and should NOT be eaten. Real butter is okay in small amounts; avoid margarine like the plague.

(17) MOVE your body. If you are on all those medicines, you probably won't want to go running marathons (yet), but aside from the most acute illnesses where all the body's energies must go towards healing, you must exercise and move to become healthy. Even paralyzed people strapped into hospital beds need to be moved regularly, to keep fluids from pooling; if you want to become healthy, you need more than that. Exercise opens up capillaries and circulates blood, to bring in nutrients and carry away wastes. What is more, exercise that tasks the muscles directly triggers the release of healing hormones and substances. You don't have to work hard to get that effect; just more than you are used to. Each day you exercise, challenge yourself to do a LITTLE more than the previous time. IF you cannot do that, then increase your rest period between exercise sessions by one day, until you can improve session to session (workout to workout). Do what you can do without overdoing things; let your body tell you how much or how little (and check with your doctor on this, first). Squat down and stand up several times every day, unless your medical condition prohibits this. If you can't do vigorous exercise, at least be sure your limbs and joints are moved regularly through their full range of motion. Learning and practicung yoga under a GOOD teacher --one with knowledge and experience of dealing with ill people-- is a very good idea.

Each day, your body is renewing its cells, with different types of cells doing so at different rates (the stomach lining is replaced a few times a day; the intestinal lining every three days; nerve cells and some immune cells last a lifetime). IF you do the above things, then your body will be gradually replacing its cells with ones that function better than the old ones. As higher percentages of cells become better able to function, the organs and tissues they comprise will start to function better. Gradually, your health will return. You should notice dramatic improvements within a few weeks, and a total transformation over several months.

Most, if not all, of your meds will be cut back, and eventually many can be stopped, regardless of your age or how long you have been taking them. Those medicines are placing a great burden on your liver and kidneys and other tissues, so the faster you can safely reduce and eventually eliminate them, the sooner you will be healthier, and the healthier you will become. Don't stop taking them suddenly on your own, but if you do the above you can expect your doctor to reduce your meds fairly soon, for sure.

You can also expect your memory and focus to return once you are off the meds and on a good diet. [Been there, done that; I suffered from "brain fog" for a few years. You CAN get back a crystal-clear mind, but only when your brain's chemistry (neurotransmitter levels) is in the right balance(s). The drugs (and probably your diet to a lesser extend) are not helping that to happen.

Your body was designed/evolved to function well into old age without needing
artificial medicines and such. It has become unhealthy because you were doing things or exposed to things it was not made to deal with, probably including years of a diet it was not designed to thrive on (compounded by exposure to all the toxicity/pollution of our modern world). Give it the things it was designed to function properly with, and it will begin to function properly again.

Full healing, depending on what shape you are in, can take a few years, but the progress will be evident much sooner than that. Of course, if you have had organs removed or too much damage done by all those meds, complete healing may not be achievable, but substantial healing is always possible.

Most doctors will not understand or appreciate the truly overwhelming importance of things like diet in healing, because it isn't what they are taught in medical school. The schools are supported largely by pharmaceutical-company money, and there is no money to be made in a good diet, which cannot be patented. Much of the scientific proof of the effectiveness of diet is recent, but there is no profit to be made in telling doctors about it, so very often they don't know about it.

You may check the above suggestions with your doctor if you wish, but even if he laughs at them or say they are useless, forgive him for his ignorance (he knows other things that can sometimes help you or save your life, too!) and just start doing this for yourself. He'll probably tell you they are harmless, if useless (in his opinion). You can show him how useFUL they are, just by doing them. In time, the results WILL COME, probably faster and more dramatically than you would imagine, if you REALLY do ALL the above things.

I hope this helps you ...although it won't help with the remote control!

Thanks For the replys ....

I had a program for my Palm Pilot that let me do more or less the same thing. Although it cost something like $60 so I only ever tried the free trial version.
