Got in an RCA console amp/preamp/turntable to restore.

The amp, IIRC, has a chassis number of "P23", the preamp is "P24", and the console case had a "P13" number. The amp is PP 6BQ5 stereo, with two 12AX7/7025 input tubes and a 5U4 rectifier. The preamp uses two 12AU7 tubes.

I drew up a very approximate diagram of the top of the amp, showing tube locations. If anyone recognizes this and could provide more detailed model numbers, it would be greatly appreciated. A schematic would be even MORE greatly appreciated!

Thanks for any help...

Gordon.

The Sams index lists a 6P23 and 2P24 chassis, both in folder 482-13. I don't have it, but it shouldn't be too hard to scare up...

Fortunately, the thing seems to work, just red-plates a couple of output tubes.

First thing I'm going to do, is just kick out all of those bumblebee coupling caps... that might just be enough to get it going correctly. Again fortunately... I now know how to read those caps... direct substitution underway soon...

Regards,
Gordon.
