Help Identify ADC Cartridge

Hi all,

Some time ago I bought a SME 3009 II Improved on eBay. The arm came with an ADC cartridge which the seller did not have any information about. I was hoping that someone might be able to identify the cartridge from the photos at this link:

Many thanks.

It's a Q-3, maybe a Q-4, a .6 mil conical. As far as I know, no interesting styli were ever offered for it. It's a very basic cartridge, dating from the time when ADC was part of BSR and Peter Pritchard was a distant memory.

The weird thing is, Jico wants almost twice as much for their red Q-4 copy as for their blue Q-3, even though they're both conicals and likely (in my guess-opinion) to be the same stylus.
I couldn't find a spec sheet. Vendors have tracking forces from 1 to 1.5 to as much as 2.5 grams.

The other mystery is whether it's a p-mount in an adapter, or a purpose-built standard-mount body.

My guess is that by this time, it had been decided that turntables were on the way out and the way to go was to spend as little as possible on these cartridges, so I'm going to guess they're moving-magnet rather than moving-iron like the PSX series. If we could get a picture of the underside of the body with the stylus removed, we might be able to tell if this guess is correct.

Thank you John, that's very useful to know.
