Thanks for the response. They actually sound pretty good, considering all their inherent weaknesses. I'm using a subwoofer, which helps a lot. The speakers put out solid mid-range; they go very loud without distorting, at least. I did notice an absence of the higher trebles, and soon discovered there is no sound coming from either tweeter. There are two inputs for the speakers, however. An old school screw-post type deal, and an RCA. I tried both, and both produced sound from the woofers, but never the tweeters.
Your mentioning of the drivers begged the question: Yeah, what kind of drivers are in there? Since I was gonna have to get in there for the tweeters sooner or later anyways, I took off one of the woofers and took some pictures. Both of the different drivers are of the brand, Dynamic Speaker Corporation. Googled the brand and went straight to the pictures. Found this in another thread, about some unrelated brand of speaker:

Not profitable is probably good, as rather than indicate poor quality, it merely implies bad business people, and would help explain why a company that made good speakers would remain obscure.
I’ll keep digging for sure. I like the vintage walnut veneer either way, and since the tweeters are probably blown, I may make this my first speaker build project. Well, legit project, that is. I’m sure I’ve tried many times in my younger years to put some speakers together in some haphazard way, but I’d like to make something awesome this time.
