Ok, I need help identifying another pair of speaker stands I recently purchased. I like to try out different speakers. So, I like to keep some stands on hand of various heights and given how much good quality new stands cost, I pick used stands locally whenever I find them at a decent price.
Since I didn't have anything between 18" and 29", when I saw a pair of these, I decided to go for it:
The tubular base is threaded to accept 1/4" - 20 spikes (which leads me to believe they may have been Made in the USA, all my other stands accept metric M6 or M8 spikes). Unfortunately, the spikes were not included.
Without the spikes, they are 22.5" tall. The top plate is 7" x 6" and the curved base and vertical tubes have an outside diameter of 1.25".
Anyone else have a pair of these? Anyone know the manufacturer?
I don't know what the market is for speaker stands in other locations, but around here, if you're patient you can pick up some real bargains compared to original selling prices. Of course, that also means the resale value sucks. That's OK, I buy them to use, not to flip.
Of the five pairs of speakers stands I currently own, three of them are Paradigm - which are generally pretty spendy new. I think the availability in my area me be due to the fact that there is a local Paradigm dealer that has been in business forever. I bet they've sold a lot of Paradigm stands over the years. My other recent speaker stand purchase was a pair of Paradigm J-29 speakers stands, complete with original box and all original hardware. They are easily the nicest stands I have ever owned.
Anyway, if anyone recognizes the stands shown above, please let me know.
