Help identify these...

Pics are from an estate sale happening tomorrow.

The house has quite a bit of audio equipment in it, but the people running it are hiding model numbers on everything by covering them with tape.

Wondering if anyone recognizes these speakers...

Rather save myself a trip if possible.

2nd is definitely Polk, early 90s. My guess is Monitor 5A because of the logo placement. As far as I know the 7's had the logo on the grille and the grille covered the whole front of the speaker.

The 1st pic is vaguely reminiscent of something my father-in-law used to have but I couldn't begin to tell you. My guess is they are worth checking out. A box that looks like that probably was fairly high-end.

Can't identify the speakers, yet, but models covered with tape? Not sure I understand that. If they have them priced way above market value that might be an excuse. Seems like having the make/model might help get more for the speakers. Weird.

I was thinking the same thing about the second image, Polk speakers, but not terribly familiar with the models.

Is the first one a corner speaker or is the photo just a little distorted? It looks like it's nicely built.

First pic looks like an a/d/s/ speaker. 1590 or higher up? I would camp out if possible for that. Second is a Polk, but can't tell the model.
If the first isn't an a/d/s/ I would be really surprised.

So the ones thought to be polks were polks. but the bigger ones were a pair of "esb 7/08." I'm familiar with the people running this estate sale and wasn't surprised by the prices.

750 for the ESB and 300 for the Polks.

Not much info on those ESB's... not sure were they grabbed that price from.

At least both pairs of speakers seemed to be in good shape with the surrounds in good condition.... last week i went to one of these and a pair of optimus whatever radioshack speakers had scotch tape all around the cones... and they wanted 65 bucks.

The ESB are Italian built speakers. I would love to hear them.

they had both pairs playing on different sides of the room. it was hard to tell what i was hearing because of it... but for 750 i wasn't gonna waste my time falling in love with them.

i did walk away with a mint condition creedence greatest hits and grass roots lp's though... suppose the 20 minute drive wasn't a complete waste.

had some really nice gear... just too expensive.

Oak Tree vintage has them for $1300. But $750 is high for a unknown brand in my book. Do they have a half off day?
