Help Identifying Some Vintage(?) Altecs

Hi, I just had someone drop off the Altecs in the picture, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to find more info on them. You'll notice that someone has replaced the woofers with MTXs (those wouldn't have been stock, would they??). I did do a quick frequency response test and the tweeters do appear to be functioning, which I highly anticipated would not be the case, so that's a relief.

As for sound quality, they are a bit underwhelming, but will be good for home theatre use as the woofers do provide a bit of a kick, and otherwise HT doesn't exactly demand detailed listening. However I will recap the crossovers when I get the chance to see if that does improve things.

Oops, forgot the photo, and I don't know how to add one to the original post (doh!).

The MTX definitely would not of been stock

Can you post a zoomed in pic of the back, there might be some clues there to help identify them

Here 'tis - it doesn't have any model name info unfortunately, which is why I've turned to scouring the internet for it. Anything you can do to help would be very much appreciated though.

Thanks! I must have looked at a thousand photos on Google, et al, but not one even hinted at what model line it could be from.

While Altec fans don't always acknowledge it, the company made great and not so great speakers, even when it was in its prime. Their small direct radiator speakers weren't particularly distinguished, and may have actually improved after Sparkomatic bought the company, and your speakers may not have delighted you ,even when new and with the correct drivers.
But my experience of the low end Altecs is that they were fun to listen to, and had a similar house sound to the larger Altecs. They just had less of if. But when the house sound is big, even bigger than lifelike, offering less, and usually a lot less, is pretty thin gruel.
