[Help] LXI Series All-in-One

My friend recently dropped off this unit from his basement that’s been collecting dust. I got it cleaned and spinning well, but I have two problems.

• I don’t know how to operate this counter balance
• I don’t know what stylus I need to replace the one in the pictures

Counterbalance is Faux. Unfortunately. BSR cheapie tarted up to look like something more substantial than it is. See if you can find the model number, and use that for a stylus search. I suspect this was built for Sears by Sanyo.

Yeah - that isn't a real counterweight. It's probably a molding. But the arm wasn't meant to have a counterweight - it is very light and a spring is used to get the tracking force high enough. Kent is right to think that the model number is your best bet for identifying the stylus you want. Voice of Music might have the stylus you need.
It's not going to be the greatest turntable you've ever heard, but it might be perfectly okay. If you have high audio ambitions, simply move along - don't waste the effort. But if you simply want to listen to records now and again, it might be fine.
