HELP.... Marantz 4230

Well, I thought I completed a sucessful recap of the amp and power supply boards in my 4230, but when I go to set the 'audio adjustment' as described in the SM, connecting a DVM to Pin 711 (-) and Pin 717(+) and set for 15mv dc, likewise Pin 712 (-) and Pin 718 (+). On the right channel the meter goes up to almost 15mv and then drops to rest about 6mv, on the left channel it rockets to 76 mv and pretty much stays there. Adjusting the trimmers R737 and R738. I did check the automatic voltage regulator value and it is right on 35v. I changed cap value for value with all nichicon audio grade caps. What have I done???? It sounds great but I know these reading cannot be good. Please help. Thanks Rich

Figured it out, I know I'm an idiot, but I did not know what the black components were attached to the back of the heatsink, I am guessing they are sensors for the value I was adjusting. I used heatsink compound on them when I re-attached them and I'm thinking that was a no-no. I removed the compound and both channels dialed in a 15mv. Thanks as always Rich

I have the same problem on my 4230. What "blank components" on the back of the heatsink are you talking about. Can you describe that better? I suppose it's too late for a photo?
