Help!! MC-2255 Right Channel Issues(Broke)

I turned on my Stereo (MC-2255, C-33, MR-75, XR-19's) and and sound came out of the right channel for a split second and Never Again... Help me diagnose it please!!
here is what I have tried so far...
1. reversed the RCA to check the cables.. Cables good
2. tested headphones - Right did not work
3. put another speaker on the channel - did not work

I inherited this setup from my Grandfather and have the same Passion for music as he had but not the same Wallet if you follow. I want to Fix this but am at the same time affraid to find out the problem$$.

You have a great setup... I hope you keep it and the issue is minor.
I am sure more technically experienced members will come to help , in a meantime:
Are you sure it's the amp? It could be a preamp as well.
You said you reversed cables to check them ; you should also connect Left preamp OUT to Right amp IN and opposite. This way you'll now if Right channel is off, it's the amp.
Have you checked the mono/stereo switch at the back? My 2205 has it, not sure about 2255.

Nice gift from your grandfather......

I think you are saying the RH headphone jack on the power amp was missing sound......swap the input from the preamp L for R. RH still out?

If that is the case it is time to treat the amp with the respect your grandfather would expect and bring it to a local tech. Maybe the switches on the back are dirty.....well there are lots of maybes.

There is no repair inside for someone to learn to be a tech.

Does the auto-test stop on one particulary step when you switch the power on ?
What is the serial number of the unit ? Between CT1001 and CT3264 ?

Tested go through all the steps and the tach still reads and moves. I also plugged a source directly to the amp and still nothing.

I have a MC2500 on the bench right now, that I was concerned with developing a problem similar to yours. Because of some cheating typical flipper crap, this possible potential problem was purposely hidden from the new owner.

A bench test confirmed the issue is a display issue and now we can proceed with a repair that while not inexpensive, is a lot cheaper than it could have been.

So, time to get your amp to a local tech. As in all trades labor rates vary greatly depending on were you live. $75.00 to 100.00 US for parts and 4-5 hours at your local professional trade labor rates would be my estimate. I would suggest recapping the small signal power supply while the amp was open as well as the driver boards.

i thought it could be the preamp too so i plugged into the amp directly and still no sound from the right channel. yes i checked the rca by switching it no luck

If your PowerGuard display goes into full locked on red.....well since PG monitors distortion it usually indicates a major amp issue.......in this case the previous "owner" unplugged the display not bothering to fix the problem.

Luckily upon bench testing it turns out to be a broken PG display driver not a amp section problem.
