Help me chose a great amp

Looking into the new Yamaha A-S501 or Yamaha A-S701 to replace my old dying Yamaha amp (which is giving me issues and simply doesn't have enough power to support my speakers).

Will be running a Teac TN-300 MM table on this setup and some digital music as well.

Have a pair of KEF R300.

I'm looking at the Rotel RA-12 but not sure it is better than the Yamaha's (also less power).

Some thoughts?

I have always believed in buying as much quality power that you can afford. There is far less chance of damaging speakers with more power than needed. Plus the added headroom will provide better sound even at lower volumes.

For just power for the dollar, it's hard to beat Emotiva. I've owned 2 of their amps. Great product for the money.

I've always been partial to the NAD-KEF pair up, but if you like the "natural sound" of Yamaha, stick with it. My CR-2020 is powering a pair of KEF C55s right now and they sound great together.

I have the Yamaha as500 and it's a really nice amp the new as range now has the benefit of the built in dac. I don't think you can go wrong with the new Yamaha's.
