help me figure out this realistic speaker

I talked to a gentleman who says he has a pair of realistics. He says they're about 2 foot tall. And 18 inch wide. They have 4 drivers, a 10 woofer , a mid , tweet, and a horn. On the back , it has a rca jack on each along with 2 screws for speaker wire. He is sellin for 20. Any help. With identification would be appreciated, along with realistic speaker ads.

Are you sure about the 18" wide? That's at least as wide as my Mach One's, maybe a tad wider?

those where his sight measurements. also he said the horn is 2 inches wide by 4 inch long, and the horn runs lateral on the side of speaker

I'd recommend perusing the speaker pages of the catalogs at www.radioshackcatalogs.com Based on the description, I'd start in the early 80s and along into/through the 90s.

I agree with the catalogs, which I posted, but anything with RCA jacks on the back will end in the late 70's maybe early 80's. By the time the 40-4029 Mach One came out, RCA jacks were no longer used. Not saying it's not possible, I just don't recall them being there when I worked at the shack. I could be wrong.

There were a few component/rack systems that still used the RCA's alas most of the speakers that came with them were rather crappy. IMHO

There WAS a speaker from the Realistic Optimus line, that was short and wide. Seems like it was from the 70s. I don't recall the complete model name, or what kind of drivers it had. That's what your description sounds like to me.

EDIT: Optimus 7, that's the one I'm thinking of.
