Help Navigating the Forest of Tower Speakers

The last speakers I bought (and still have) were in 1992........NHT 1.5's. It's obviously time for an upgrade. I am looking for a pair of towers under $1000. They will be driven by a Marantz 250, 125 wpc. I'm strictly vinyl. Electronic and rock. There are more choices than I can process in all the seemingly biased reviews, there are no commonalities but Klipsch does keep coming up. Oh, I do want new not vintage. Living room is approx 15x20 with a vaulted ceiling that will run in line with the direction of sound. Thank you in advance.

Monitor Audio Bronze #5 or #6. Maybe the #6 for your room. I have the bookshelf #2's in a 10x20 room with my listening spot at 12ft. They fill the room just fine but I'm considering the #5 to get a slightly deeper bass.

Unless you find them on sale they might be a wee bit over your budget but the PSB Imagine X2T would be well worth considering.

Auditioned 5 yesterday and learned the importance of auditioning. The first two, the environment was kinda bad, two walls behind me at odd angles nothing soft.
Revel - Lack of detail and clarity
Klipsch - Compared to the Revels, the mid range was very pronounced.
B&W (for comparison) sounded really great but 3K

Next stop. Really nice listening spaces.
Psb - I think the GT1 - They were ok, I think my NHT's had more clarity, but need bass.
Dynaudio Evoke 10 ($1500) - These are tiny bookshelf speakers, they were absolutely unbelievable, the quality I was looking for but with the price tag I wasn't looking for.

spark1 - Well I guess I'm wanting newer technology plus the quest for a more full sound. I do still like them though.
stimpywan - I am curious about the KEF's, it's hard to find places to audition, just hafta keep looking.
fill35u - sorry..........but I have more information now, no harm.
