Help Needed! Finding Rack Mount Adapters And Handles

I have a pioneer RG-2 and SR-303 that takes the Ja-r104 adapters but the real ones are sold at highway robbery prices like most vintage audio these days. Are there any after market alternatives? Also looking for after market rack mounts for a Scott 830z and Sony VT-M5. Any Ideas?

The original rack mount handles or adapters for any vintage audio are very rare and expensive. They didnt make many of them and lots of them got thrown away.
There are universal rack mount adapters available, but nothing will match the looks of the originals. If your only goal is to rack mount them you could always just buy a rack shelf and bolt them down. I have seen people who cut a custom trim bezel for rack mount equipment, but precise cutting is required. Not easy to do!

I had a Marantz tuner once that could be equipped with optional rack mounts and handles. The rack mounts and handles cost about twice what the tuner did. Is it worth it? Only you can decide how bad you want them..

It's one product I'm surprissed nobody is reproducting. Get on Vevor.com and buy a Melting Furnace, throw in some aluminum and cast your own. You would need the originals for a mold but you could make as many as you needed. There's lot's of YouTube Videos and books on the subject. Guys are making rare motorcycle manifolds and other rare metal stuff at home.

Good luck with your search, I never saw handles when I was a kid, those stacks tended to be big money back then.

I`ve had decades of excellent rack mount shelve/custom face plate products experience from a company called Middle Atlantic for my living room`s A/V racks to attractively mount non rack mount A/V electronics, since the mid nineties.

Not very inexpensive, but my multi decade experience with the quality of their work has been stellar from day one.

They have a existing and quite large inhouse equipment measurement data base for a lot consumer/commercial A/V electronics, and if they don`t they will, if you provide accurate measurements of the device`s height and width, they`ll create a custom perfectly fitting rack face plate cut for your to be rack mounted gear, with a solid or vented shelf included.

Hi thanks for replying. I realized this sadly. I was looking for just any silver replacement not the originals. As long as the color matches I don't mind it being a new generic rack product. I know their rare but these prices are ridiculous. I'm not the military, I can't buy a screw for 5000. Wish I could.

Thanks I will try them. Just looking for a generic silver colored one. Almost finished with my collection and is one of the last pieces of the puzzle.

HAHAHA I wish I could. If people are paying those ridiculous prices I should join the party. Unfortunately my job wont permit me to have time to do another business. Maybe I'll get my buddy who does metal machining to start it up. He's got time on his hands.

I've always been facinated by the home foundries, if he bites tell him there's lot's of books on archive.org on the subject and now there's a ton of YouTube Videos. It's fun watching guys pick stuff like metal bed frames and melt them down for a project.
