Help needed! MX-110Z issue with motorboating in one channel!

Hi!
This just started up that between the two phono inputs and also the tape head input on the selector, a popping noise has turned into (in particular PH1) a motorboating, woofer excursioning event that has scared the pants off me! Also it's only on the left channel
It only happens during the switching and it goes away when you fiddle with the switch and I suppose, re-seat it and there is a slight, but not loud, pop, when turning between these two phono inputs.
Otherwise it's alright...but what to do? The Tannoy Gold, well I can see the cloth on the outside moving so that's alarming...yes I did open her up and clean the contacts on the selector switch and there was a fair amount of dirt there...
What could be causing this?
Note - it's not on anything else...and I have put new phono tubes in to make certain it wasn't either one of them.

Quite frankly - I am a bit freaked out here...
No buzzing or anything else noticable...

Update - if I jiggle the selector switch, in either phono 1, phone 2 or tape head, it can send it buzzing/motorboatin - in phono 1 it's a motorboating in the left channel, in tape head it's a buzzing also in the left channel...
 
Further observations - I have a reel to reel connected up to the tape out so it seems that it's happening there too. This means I suppose that this problem has not much to do with the 6D10 and it's caps underneath (that I seem to have changed anyway)
 
Have now cleaned all the selector switch - and now it happens whether I am on PH1 PH2 or tape head. WIthout anything plugged in it`s a whiney buzz in all 3. Loudest in the tape head...
Help!

A capacitor that is not connected? What is a phono pin?

Sorry. It was a heck of a day.
I meant that a capacitor soldiered to the left phono 12AX7 pin had come loose. A bad soldier join. After it was resoldiered, it was fine.
