Help needed to identify a set of Klipsch speakers....

Saw these today in an antique store and they wanted $135 for the pair (duh, I should have bought them anyway), but I could not find a model number on them.

They are about 3 foot 6 inches high, about 10" wide and a good 12" deep. The cabinet was oak veneer. The removable grill was held on with magnets. There are 2 drivers in them, a 8" or so woofer with rubber surround, and the usual horn tweeter. There is a port near the bottom on the lower back side, above the speaker connectors The grills were black and the Klipsch badge on the grill was at the bottom as was made of plastic.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

They usually have a paper tag on the back. There is a code on there which will state what model and finish the speakers are.
Also, not to rub it in, but any Klipsch speaker if functioning is worth that money. Even the small bookshelf speakers can be flipped for about $100.

There was a tag, but it had only faded lettering that was unreadable. I went to the Klipsch website, that was not a big help at all (no history database that I could find).
 
It's fairly easy to find all kinds of info on the vintage Klipsch speakers but the 80s-90s-00's, not so much. I don't know of a nice chart anywhere that would help ID them.

Pics always help because someone will own or has owned them.
 
If possible, go back and write down the serial number of the speaker. It is written on the paper tag and stamped into the wood. It will have all the info you need. The Klipsch website has changed. There use to be a link to all of their archives. It had specs of all the speakers. Easier to figure out based on sizes then. Now not so much.
 
KG 4.5? If so - great speakers! I have a pair a love them. But these have 10inch woofer and large horn.
 
I believe there are two versions of the KG3.2, one with the front firing passive radiator like mine, and another with the rear port, will investigate further. No luck, I was mistaken.

Except for the height you report, these sound very much like the KSF 8.5 (35.75" tall), from the original Synergy Series. They would seem to be, essentially, a successor to the KG 3.5, with the newer Tractrix horn. I just missed a nice pair - always a day late, it seems.
