Help - Onlife Research u-22 console preamplifier

triptych

New Member
Hello all, I have this very beautiful Onlife Research (predecessor to Dynavector) valve preamplifier. I gave it to a valve technician because I was getting a little tingle when I touched the outer casing. He said he had it up running and making beautiful music on his isolated bench supply..but said that it can not be run any other way because it has a fault in its power transformer.
..I am hoping he remembered that it was 100v unit..and that he didn't put 240v through it...
Anyway..the power transformer is potted. How should this be investigated?
If a replacement is needed, how can one ascertain the windings..taps..specs etc..when the thing is encapsulated and in a metal box?
I can find no circuit diagram for this unit which shows the spec of the power transformer. Can anyone help?
I have no idea how to get it repaired. It's a beautiful and pretty valuable unit..and I am pretty cut up by its present state!
If anyone can recommend someone in the UK who can sort this..that would be so very much appreciated!
