Help painting a turntable

That guy is an absolute wizard!!!!!:thmbsp: I have a couple of questions.....doesn't the strobe light have to be...well....a strobe light? Also,he mentions that he eliminates the ground. How is that a good thing?
Having said that, his finishing skills are fantastic!!! The only thing missing are the Technics decals!

I didn't read through the whole thread, but I don't think he said anything about getting rid of the strobe... However, I did see that he said "removed ground wire" which I also thought was a bad thing - but he clearly knows what he is doing! He seemed to paint Techinics on some of the newer ones - it looked really sick.

Anyway, those finishings are amazing. I bet he could charge for more than a new turntable for some of those finishings - such as the rusty ones from the club he did!

Other question. Which brand of spray paint should I use? Does it matter? In the past I have been happy with the Rustoleum from home depot because it is a good price and looks nice but is there something that would give me a better glossy finish?

I have a set of Bose 301 (Series II) that I bought for $15 three years ago. They are made out of the same particle board and vinyl covering as my turntable so I am going to test out painting techniques on those speakers first.

If people would like I can post some photos of the process.
