Help! Pinch roller not moving to engage capstan.

I just recently got a Sony CMT-NE3 CD player and cassette player. When it first arrived, the pinch roller component was detached and I tried putting it back in. When I tried playing a tape, the playback speed was probably twice as fast as it should've been. It did not move up to engage the capstan, so obviously I did not put it in correctly (and I don't know how to). I know it isn't bad rubber on the roller, because when I manually press the roller to the capstan, the playback is fine. Please help! Pictures included below.
