Help! Pioneer faceplate advice

So I purchased a car that has had it's faceplate stolen. I know it is a pioneer stereo because the remote was still in the car. I would like to purchase a new faceplate so I can save some money by not buying the entire stereo. I just don't know which faceplate would fit. Please any advice would be appreciated.

Pull it out and look at the label? Look up the remote if it has a number?
Face plate may be "married" to chassis?

My JVC faceplate from 1993 is electronically "married" to the head. It CANNOT be switched, so I would imagine newer models can't be either. It wouldn't cost more to buy a whole new unit than to spend hours searching for a faceplate, that once purchased, may not even work. Just my opinion. Good luck.

PIoneer is the same way. You can't just mix and match. It has to be the same model, and faceplates new, cost more than a new head unit, IF you can find someone to sell you one. Just go down to Walmart and buy a new radio. You may or may not have to change the wiring harness.
