Help - Pre-Amp connection

Guys, i need to ask a stupid question

i am testing a Mcintosh mc225 and C11. here is my connection:

PC >> 2Qute Dac >> High level inputs on C11. From C11 output Tape to C22 Input ( i also tried Output Main, but same thing)

the problem is that even if i turn off C11, the music is still on. Turn on C11, none of buttons works...so somehow Pre-amp is not functioning as it should.

I also tried C22, same story...

did i connect everything wrong? thank you!!!

You may want to better clarify the EXACT inputs and outputs you're using with each piece. Spell it all out. Also, why are you using a C11 and a C22?

Typically the tape out function is hard wired to all the high level inputs, only the phono inputs are properly equalized to the RIAA standard and the hard wired to the tape out path.

The tone circuits, balance and volume are not connected to or controlled via the tape outs therefore only by the main out or in some cases the 600 ohm line outputs are they in circuit.
