You can be sure that if I ever decide to try on something different, You fellers will be the first to know , besides that some of yuns help put them back together. I will be around here for awhile since im so messed up in the head over Vintage stuff. Does it ever get any better? My spare room downstairs is starting to look like a episode of hoarders and I cant hardly get to my fishing poles for all the stray stuff i get from(places) I suppose (sigh) I will just have to live with it!!!
Whats rumble issues ? I hope that was complement . Heck I dont fishin anymore nohow, I go speaker hunting, Yep I must be messed up in the head . I would blame somebody but
I cant think of who it might be!

Nope will not get better and for you since you have started out with such an excellent system only can get worse, as you try to make it better.

We do not call it hoarding just keeping it in reserve and you know sell it some day.

The rumble issue I think referenced is that you may have issues with low freq rumble
from your turntable because of where the speakes are placed but you will know if you do

On your speaker hunting it is going to be hard to find better than you got
You lucky so and so I still can not get over that all of this was given to you

Also if you do have rumble move the speakers away from the turntables
and maybe a little forward small changes at a time.

Congrats JT! Beautiful sytem you've built. Those are a fine looking pair of QLS's!
Fill those bottom bins with LP's and the added mass should help if you notice any low frequency feedback when playing records. Worst case, switch on your low cut filter if you have it on your preamp.

The toe in was mostly just me trying to get everything in the pic, as
my listening room is not wide enough for me to back up any farther and also just getting the hang of a new camera. I dont have a stylus for those TTs yet
as they are gonna cost a dab,but i can see where that could happen. As for filling those cabs with records he had them stuffed with a huge collection of classic rock sets , some of them were still unopened and those may find there way here before long(i hope). I think these speakers sound great but my room is not as large as i feel they need a bigger room. IMO. Playing at lower vol helps but when you open up the power a little they almost sound too big for my unused basement living rm. Also the volumn on my spec 1 jumps up alot from between 9 and 10 oclock. 9 is a little low and 10 is too much, and there is no way on my spec 1 to set between that, Well I could use the filters I suppose, or the power outputs on the spec 2.

sitting bug eyed in front of the pc trying to learn(research) is alot of work.

After some more listening and thought Its probably just my lack of experience with good speakers and too much HT listening since ive never owned anything but some polks that
are supposed to be good quality. I am suprised by the detail of the tweeters and the overall sound from music that has alot of drums and highs. Its the vocals that seem a little loud but listening to bookshelf speakers mostly Im not used to the bigger Image these put out. I did finally figure out how to tone down my volume using the filters and channel levels or outputs from the tuner or other sources.

Well this woman thinks you have a fabulous looking and sounding audio system.

Still using reel to reel? My Technics 10.5" r2r has been boxed up and sitting in a closet since 1990 (when I bought my IRS Betas). I still have boxes of tapes that are still in their shrinkwrap. I wonder if they are still usable?

I rarely use my DAT player/recorder anymore either.

Yes Im still using the Reel to Reel, It sounds great and is my favorite component although I dont have many tapes yet. The difference between it and my cassette unit
is night and day IMO anyways. I have a live recording that sounds so good I feel like I was there 30 yrs ago. Always puts a smile on when Im listening to it. I dont have my TTs going yet but I do run a Blu-Ray player on a auxilary playing some Cds .Still I like the Reel to Reel better.
