Help! Should I fix?

Thrift-a-holic

Hooked for life
So I bought a pair of speakers at a local thrift store. I feel they are a good speaker. They were made by small speaker company called Domus, out of St. Paul Minnesota. I think they are early 80's, and have what appears to be high quality construction. Not certain of the actual spec, but the woofers appear to be 5 inchers. They are bookshelf sized speakers. The problem is the woofers don't have much left. When you turn them up they get mushy fast and even start to make what could be best described as a farting noise. How much would it cost to get a replacement sub that would sound good? The speakers are rated at 45 watts, and they are a two way, so it would be a Bass/Mid I believe. If I fixed them I would use them as stand alone speakers in my bedroom. Should I just take them back to the GW for my 10 bucks?

BTW they say Domus Module on the grill badge. Not sure if Module is the model or not. Here is a pic as well.

We need dimensions and pics of the drivers and front baffle.

They may be candidates for Indignification, or similar.

Once you start building stuff, the perspective shifts: "Nice cabs; what can I put in these...?"

Ok, here we go.

14.5 tall
7 deep
8.5 wide
