Help some help, Realistic 31-2020A EQ only displaying at high input level.

I picked up a Realistic 31-2020A EQ and the sound is great hooked into my Realistic STA-2080. Everything works as it should, except the spectrum analyzer which will display fine but only at very high level input. The EQ is hooked to the pre-amp out and then into the power amp. I check IC301 and C311 they are good. The slider pot VR301 measures 0 to 49.7k. What level should the display start showing up? I read that Q505 can cause the display to stay on all the time, but it too checks out. Any ideals?

Should be hooked into the tape monitor loop. When you hook it into the preamp out/in, it will still work sound wise, but at low volume there isn't enough signal voltage to drive the eq display.

Did that help the issue, I’m having the same issue, but mine is in the tape loop, the display levels are low and even the display level slider doesn’t help much, it was working fine a few weeks ago
