HELP...TEAC X1000R Reel to Reel

So,its been a while since i have been on this site,and now i need some help.........

I have a Teac X1000R Reel to Reel.It was sitting in basement(covered in plastic garbage bag).I get it out and the turn it on,FF,check...RW,check....all lights and such work.But the 2 "rollers"(under the heads) that push the tape up to the heads were stuck...would not go up.......so i got some cleaner and worked it for a while untill it worked.So,now the rollers go up but when i push play(either direction) it does not...it seems to want to but it dont.Is there anything i have to look at.100_0419.JPG

Are you trying without tape? try it without tape, push the tape sensors so the motor starts and check if both reel motors and capstan motor work. Sometimes is just stuck or sticky tape that stops the mechanism
 
hmmmmmmmm,not working that way,so far,but thanks for the start....maybe need to find someone near Minneapolis to service this.....any ideas?
