Help to ID old tube amp

anti-doom

Well-Known Member
Hi all,

Just got this tube amp from swap meet last Sunday for $40 and have no idea or info what it is. It has two Inca transformers GH-32 and GH-111. Tubes are 6SJ7, 6J5, 6V6 (2) and 80 RCA tube. Bottom look not good. Please help me to ID this amp. Or any schematic would be very helpful. I plan to make it work. Thanks.

or outright homebrew. The screws mounting the tube sockets say not mass-produced whatever it is. The 80 rectifier didn't see much use post-war. Some of those resistors look pretty old too, but it could still be early post-war. Body, end, dot style were mostly a pre-war thing but certainly could have been laying around years later for a hobbyist build.

The amp was mass produced. Arc welding where sides are joined.
This is a very simple amp. All you need is a tube manual and some
basic test equipment. Most likely came out of a low end console.
I'd fire it up to see if it actually works or what it needs to be functional.
Appears to have a pi filter for power supply which is good.
Also appears to have been repaired multiple times. Nice project to restore.

Mass produced chassis box maybe, but I doubt this was mass produced in assembled form.

need to find an Inca trafo catalog to see what they are and what can be done with them. Its going to be mono whatever it is, and I suspect one of them is actually a choke. It also doesn't appear to be connected based on the cut-off wires.

Perhaps burned our and bypassed. A period Inca sic may have a suggested circuit like this as Thordarson did.
