wow, I just read these posts, quite some time after the " first print" but I am amazed about how much effort, knowledge and friendship it took to complete. I am a new member here, and got to read this while looking for some info on what speaker binders to use for CT 1000 ( to upgrade the old ones).
Anyway, now I can see there are some other people fascinated by the sound of some old Canton speakers and at least I can tell myself now, is not that crazy I own a pair of Canton Karat 100, Karat 200, Karat 40, Karat 60, Canton CT-1000 (refurbished) and 2 pairs of CT-100 (one pair refurbished -love it).

So, finally, Hi Marcus and welcome to Audiokarma!

It looks like you are well into the Canton Zone. Of the speakers that you own I have owned the Karat 100, 200 and 60, and have or have had or worked on Quinto 510, 520 & 530, LE 600, GL 210 & 260, CT 80 and Plus S.

The binding posts that my friend Rodolfo showed you are what I use for pretty much everything, in a shorter version even for amplifiers. If you are in Europe I usually buy them from Strassacker (https://www.lautsprechershop.de/intro_en.htm) or HiFi Collective (https://www.hificollective.co.uk/). In the US I do not know the best source.

I know that Rodolfo uploaded many Canton schematics to the AK database and I thought that the CT 100 was one of them but can't find the link at the moment. If you need or want the schematics let one of us know and we can post them. You would be doing all of us Canton lovers a great favor if you post a thread showing your CT 100 restoration efforts. I'd love to see them.

It was a great pleasure to be a part of Rodolfo's work on his CT 90's, and even a greater pleasure to have him visit me. I sure hope that he is able to visit again. Of course we are not finished. I've been looking for the grill covers for his ports for some time now but as of yet haven't found any. But I am stubborn and will keep searching until we find some.

Hi guys, I've been checking this thread from time to time as I also have a pair of CT-100's that I'm working on to refurbish/refresh them. One part that is really fit for these (CT 800/1000/2000 100/120/90/80 and some early ergo's) are the 5989 tweeters - an evolution of the later 4888 and 5426 that were used on the /2 models of 100/120 at least.

I don't know the detail that you need, but you should write to Canton, they are usually glad to answer those technical questions and might provide you with the specs sheet for that driver.

Доброго дня Родольфо.дуже вдячний за відповідь.Недавно придбав Canton fonum 730dc в дуже гарному косметичному стані,але при прослуховуванні я помітив деякий дисбаланс.Заміри всіх елементів показали наступне,усі конденсатори крім 4.7мф були більші ніж вказані.А саме замість 15мф-23мф , замість 47мф-58.7мф,замість68мф-82мф'.решту конденсаторів 6440та3766 я тому не заміряв, що не знайшов їх номіналів . Усі конденсатори я замінив на нові,а саме-4,7та15мф monakor mkp,а 47 та68мф на janntzen Audio premium Elko Al NP.Також замінив усі резистори на Janntzen audio Superes.Стало все ще гірше ніж було до того.Тому я засумнівався в драйверах .Заміри показали наступне.Бас-7.6ом кожен, паралельно -3.8ом у сумі,середній-5916-3.4ом,твітер-4.6ом,причому твітер чомусь невизначив індуктивності. можливо в них використано магнітний наповнювач? Моя попередня робота над Canton 601fonym,доречі дуже вдала,показала наступне.Canton почати грати тільки при одному умові, всі конденсатори повинні бути точнішими до 0.1mf, причому марка їх особливого значення не має ,у 601fonum ява використовував радянські конденсатори к76-16в підібрані з великої кількості,але з точністю до ,05мф.Головне!!! Опір нч секцій котушка+динаміки повинен бути до0,01ом порівнювати сч і всі секції навіть для використання аттенюатора. До такого висновку я прийшов, створюючи тональний баланс за допомогою виведених за межі корпусу проводів з перемінними резисторами на кінцях. І так з кожним динаміком окремо.Нажаль у мене не має вимірювального мікрофона тому все настроювалось на слух і під моє приміщення.Ось чому я до Вас Родольфо звернувся по допомогу.За запитом до info@canton.мені лише запропонували купити у них ці деталі.
